Frequently asked questions.

What is the cancellation policy?

Trips will run rain or shine, however in the case of severe inclement weather or boat ramp closures, trips will be cancelled, and you will be notified. Cypress Waters reserves the right to cancel a trip at any time or for any reason. If cancelled by us, a refund will be promptly provided. If you would like to cancel a trip and notify me at 48 hours ahead of time, a full refund will be provided. For cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled trip, a 50% fee will be charged. Re-scheduling a trip will not impose any fees.

What about weather?

As noted above, trips will run rain or shine, with the exception of severe inclement weather. Boating, and being outside, in Florida always runs the risk of being caught in some rain. I monitor the weather radar and forecasts constantly and will adjust a trip accordingly, however in the case of some rain that is unavoidable, I advise bringing a rain jacket.

Can I use the bathroom?

Unfortunately, there is no bathroom on the boat. It is recommended that you use the restroom before we depart the dock. There are bathrooms at the boat ramps from which we operate.

Can I bring my pet?

Due to the size of the boat, pets are currently not allowed on any trips.

How many guests on the boat?

Boat trips are limited to a maximum of three (3) guests, including children.

What items should I bring with me?

Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and drinking water are strongly encouraged on all trips. Extra drinking water is available on the boat, please bring a reusable water bottle that can be refilled.

A rain jacket and a towel is encouraged, although I will do my best to avoid being caught in the rain.

Please feel free to take photos or bring cameras for your trip, however there is minimal dry storage onboard and Cypress Waters is not liable for any damage or loss to personal items during a trip. Plan accordingly.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

You may bring snacks and drinks, and you may store items in the cooler onboard. I recommend only light snacks and drink for short trips, while on half-day and full-day trips, bringing something for lunch is recommended.

Alcoholic drinks are permitted, but please be responsible, and know your limits.

Can I bring my own cooler?

Due to space limitations, please do not bring your own cooler. I keep a large cooler with ice onboard that you are welcome to use.

Can I take a swim?

For any trips on Lake Newnan, swimming is not permitted. For trips on the Santa Fe or Suwannee rivers, you may take a swim at designated swimming spots such as springs if we stop there. However, entering the water is done at your own risk. Cypress Waters is not liable for any injury or death due to incidents where a guest entered the water voluntarily.

Lifejacket policy?

All children under the age of 6 years old must always wear a lifejacket while onboard. Adults and children over 6 years of age are not required to wear a lifejacket, however they are available on the boat if desired. You may bring your own if you have them. Both adult and child lifejackets are available. I reserve the right to require any guest to put on a lifejacket if deemed necessary.
